A native of Carlsbad, California, young Rita's incessant singing annoyed her parents so much they finally indulged her by taking her to an audition for the San Diego Children's Choir. Thus began her ascent into musical society. Rita spent her formative years singing in choral ensembles and studying piano and voice. Later, she moved to Los Angeles to study Communications and Psychology and became active in the university choir and orchestra. After earning a Masters in Education, Rita is now a college career counselor and is continually baffled and intrigued by the unpredictable nature of the millennial generation. When not molding young minds of the future, Rita plays with various bands and has recorded several independent projects. Rita enjoys retro specs, dominating at Friends trivia, and snapping pictures of LA’s secret stairs.
